Milk [Copenhagen] – Urban park bursting with colour and symbols
Superkilen Urban Park is a bold and innovative public park in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen. The kilometer-long park is a giant patchwork of brightly coloured rubber, grass, and objects from around the globe, all combined into a brilliant fusion of art, architecture and landscape design. International plants and artifacts have been collected and displayed, ranging from LA exercise gear, to palm trees from China, neon signs from Russia, swings from Iraq and benches from Brazil. The collection represents the true cultural mosaic of the local neighborhood, with objects from more than 50 different countries. The impressive design, symbols and colours of Superkilen should not be missed!
There are three main areas in the park: red square, black market and green park. Designed by the arts group Superflex, in collaboration with BIG architects and Topotek1, the park is a great example and reason why Danish design is so forward-looking and celebrated.
To visit the park, make your way to the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen in the quarter of Mimersgade.
